Maxim Sheko is a multi-faceted musician whose experience stems from his intensive studies as a classical violinist and composer. His journey with the violin began at the age of eight. He later attended the elite Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, and then went on to complete his Bachelor of Music (Degree with Honours) in 2016 at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.
Maxim boasts many achievements as a young composer. His VCE Music Investigation composition for violin and piano duo was performed at VCASS, and his VCE Music Styles and Composition quasi-modal jazz work was performed at the VCE Season of Excellence Top Class Sound at Federation Square. Maxim was also commissioned to write for Trio Con Fuoco and created a quasi-minimalist work, which was premiered in 2015.
A love and passion for orchestra developed at young age by participating in Melbourne Youth Music where he took part in both their regular Saturday Ensemble programs and annual Summer School. He has since performed with orchestras such as the Zelman Memorial Symphony Orchestra, MCM Symphony, Australasian Orchestra, Art of Sound Orchestra, and the Heidelberg Choral Society Orchestra.
Maxim is now a trained Suzuki teacher. He also offers his vocal talents as a member of Exaudi Youth Choir. When he isn’t busy teaching or performing, he enjoys having a night out with friends or unwinding with some Seinfeld.
